Our History
Researching history books reveals that Sri Lankan written history is in a diverse state. Sri Lanka has had a continuous written history for 2500 years. When interpreting Sri Lankan history, it is pointed out that the Mahavamsa is interpreted and Sri Lankan history has been built in a way that is tied to India. When reading Sri Lankan history it is confirmed by studying the methodology that Sri Lanka is the trade center of the Indian Ocean and the intermediate stopover between the western and eastern sea trade routes.
It is not possible to build the present or the future without knowing the history of Sri Lanka. The Deraniyagala Foundation hopes to create a generation with a history that will take Sri Lanka to a golden age in the Indian Ocean.
